Sterilization Procedures

The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross-contamination processes using the standards recommended by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

We use ultrasonic cleaners and the Miele Dental Washer Disinfector  to clean our instruments. Following disinfection, our instruments are wrapped and sterilized in an autoclave. Daily spore tests of our sterilizers ensure that they are functioning properly. We also employ an Infection Prevention and Safety Consultant , Danielle Steinman, to inspect our infection control methods and ensure they are up to mandated government and best-practice standards.

In addition to our sterilization efforts, our office is equipped with a surgically clean air purifier. Surgically clean air purifiers improve the quality of indoor air for patients and staff. These world class medical grade air purifiers remove chemicals, toxins, germs, odors, and most importantly they kill airborne viruses, to help reduce the spread of illness.  You can find out more about the surgically clean air purifier here.
